The Sky Bet Championship returns this weekend after a two-week break and there are some fascinating ties taking place across the weekend. As we run the rule over the twelve mouth-watering fixtures between Friday and Sunday we'll put together some standout selections for our weekend accumulator with bookmakers, BoyleSports.
Sheffield United currently sit top of the Championship table and their home form in particular has been excellent. The Blades have won four from four at Bramall Lane, conceding just once in those four wins. Saturday's opponents, Birmingham City have claimed a couple of decent away wins recently but we think Sheffield United will be too strong for The Blues and at 4/9, a home with is our first selection.
We're going against the form book with our second selection as we get on Sunderland to win at home to Preston North End. Sunderland have won just once at the Stadium of Light this season whilst Preston North End are unbeaten on the road.
However, Preston's record of just two goals scored in four away games could be a concern. We're tipping Sunderland to build on their encouraging start to life back in the second tier whilst Preston's lack of goals makes Sunderland to win to nil a great option at 5/2.
Norwich City travel to Blackpool at the weekend and we think The Canaries are a solid bet to win away from home. Norwich City have bounced back from a disastrous start to the season and are currently on a seven-game unbeaten run. Saturday's hosts, Blackpool have only won one home game this season and we're second best against an average Millwall side last time out. Whilst an away win for Norwich City is great value at 10/11 we're going to boost our odds by adding over 2.5 match goals to our bet also.
We've been treated to 35 goals in the ten matches involving Bristol City this season and we're not expecting that run of goals goals to end even against a QPR side with three successive clean sheets. Drawing 0-0 in their last match at home to Stoke City signified two points dropped for the Londoners. If they go for the win at Ashton Gate, we could quite easily see over 2.5 match goals.
Rotherham United begin life after Paul Warne this weekend as their long-serving manager dropped down a division to take charge at Derby County. Rotherham United are yet to taste defeat in five home league games and on Saturday they come up against a Wigan Athletic side whose home and away form this season has been like chalk and cheese. The Latics are yet to win in five home league games this season but they are unbeaten in four matches on the road. Two sides high on confidence, looking to retain their unbeaten runs could cancel each other out. Both teams to score is our recommended bet at 20/23.
