Road to the Super Bowl
Last year's Super Bowl champions, Los Angeles Rams endured a torrid campaign and failed to make the postseason playoffs in the NFC. The Rams premature elimination has left their door open for either Kansas City Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles to be crowned champions this year and both have been impressive throughout the season.
AFC champions, Kansas City Chiefs finished the regular season with a 14-3 record and the NFL's best offensive record. In the playoffs, The Chiefs defeated Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 before claiming a last-gasp 23-20 win against last year's Super Bowl runner-ups, Cincinnati Bengals.
Philadelphia Eagles also finished the regular season with a 14-3 record, helped by an incredible eight-game winning streak at the start of the season. In their divisional playoff match, Philadelphia Eagles eased to a 38-7 win over New York Giants before an equally-impressive 31-7 win over San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
Chiefs and Eagles Super Bowl Record
Kansas City Chiefs are set to contest a third Super Bowl in four years. Having won their first Super Bowl in 1969, they won a second championship in the 2019 season. Kansas City Chiefs have a 2-2 record in their previous four Super Bowls, losing in 1967 and 2021.
This year will be the fourth Super Bowl to feature the Philadelphia Eagles. Having lost in the Super Bowl in 1981 and 2005, they finally claimed their first championship in 2018, defeating New England Patriots 41-33.
