Royal Ascot got off to a thrilling start on Tuesday with the likes of Baaeed, Nature Strip and Coroebus all living up to the hype. Wednesday brings another seven mouth-watering races and once again, here at we'll be previewing each and every race. As well as our race-by-race preview, we'll also provide the best odds and free bet offers from our betting partners at bet365.

14:30 - Queen Mary Stakes

Day two opens with a Group 2 race for two-year-old fillies. Raced over five furlongs, the Queen Mary Stakes has been a feature of Royal Ascot since 1921.

Gary Carroll won on board Quick Suzy last year and he's back in the saddle this year as he rides Lady Tilbury for David Marnane. Lady Tilbury heads to Ascot with back-to-back wins in Ireland but requires considerable improvement if she's to win here.

Dramatised heads the betting thanks to an impressive win at Newmarket on debut. Dramatised claimed a four-length win over Malrecia in April and the runner-up has gone on to win well twice since.

However, preference here goes to Love Reigns. American trainer, Wesley Ward has landed the Queen Mary Stakes three times in the last seven years and in Love Reigns he could just have another gem. One previous run under her belt at Keeneland and she won by almost ten lengths.

Race Odds

  • 5/2: Dramatised
  • 3/1: Love Reigns
  • 8/1: Maria Branwell
  • 9/1: Katey Kontent
  • 16/1: All The Time, Lady Tilbury
  • 20/1: Miami Girl, Yahsat
  • 25/1: Maylandsea, Omniqueen
  • 28/1: Carmela, Olivia Maralda
  • 33/1: Funny Money Honey, Grand Oak, Manhattan Jungle, One More Olly
  • 50/1: Lady Beano, Lost Angel, Queen Of Deauville, The Platinum Queen
  • 100/1: Primrose Ridge

15:05 - Queen's Vase

Next up on Wednesday is the Queen's Vase. One of the oldest races of the meeting, the Queen's Vase was first contested in 1838 but has been raced at several different distances. Since 2017 it has been run over six furlongs and holds Group 2 status.

Available to horses aged three years and over, the Queen's Vase often unearths some real stars. Recent winners include Stradivarius and Kew Gardens.

Trainer, Aidan O'Brien can match the late Sir Henry Cecil by winning an eighth Queen's Vase this year. The last two of O'Brien's seven wins have come with Ryan Moore in the saddle and the pair team up on Anchorage this year. Anchorage stayed on to finish fifth at the Curragh last time out over 1m2f. Never raced over six furlongs but Aidan O'Brien's record in this race is unquestionable.

There are two horses ahead of Anchorage in the betting. Eldar Eldarov is two from two for Roger Varian and is at the top of the market however, preference here is for Nahanni. William Buick rides for Charlie Appleby just as he did twelve months ago when landing the race on board Kemari. Nahanni landed a nice hat-trick between February and April and was far from disgraced when keeping on to finish seventh in the Derby.

Race Odds

  • 3/1: Eldar Eldarov
  • 4/1: Nahanni
  • 6/1: Anchorage
  • 8/1: Al Qareem
  • 9/1: Hafit
  • 10/1: Baltic Bird
  • 12/1: Ruler Legend
  • 14/1: Perfect Alibi
  • 20/1: Zechariah
  • 25/1: Typewriter
  • 40/1: Green Team, Emotion

15:40 - Prince Of Wales's Stakes

The feature race on day two is the Prince Of Wales's Stakes. The day's only Group 1 race is contested over one mile one furlong and open to horses aged four years and older.

2020 winner, Lord North bids to become just the fourth two-time winner of this race however the betting market suggests he may be right up against it at 13/2.

There are only five confirmed runners for the Prince Of Wales's Stakes and Sir Michael Stoute's Bay Bridge is a short-priced favourite at 11/10. Sir Michael Stoute has won this race twice in the last four years and Bay Bridge reinforced his credentials with an impressive win in the Brigadier Gerard at Sandown last month. Now on a five-race winning streak and certainly the one to beat here.

The main challenge for Bay Bridge is likely to come from Japanese entry, Shahryar. Winner of the Dubai Sheema Classic, Shahryar steps down in trip and could be a big player.

Race Odds

  • 11/10: Bay Bridge
  • 10/3: Shahryar
  • 6/1: State Of Rest
  • 13/2: Lord North
  • 10/1: Grand Glory

16:20 - Duke Of Cambridge Stakes

Next up is the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes. Raced over a straight mile and open to fillies and mares aged four years and over. The Duke Of Cambridge Stakes was added to the meeting in 2004 when Royal Ascot switched from four to five days.

There are joint favourites this morning with bookmakers unable to separate Saffron Beach and Mother Earth.

Mother Earth was three lengths behind Saffron Beach in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket last year. However, Saffron Beach has been handed a 5lbs penalty since which should level the field.

Mother Earth landed a decent Group 3 at the Curragh in March but was no match for Baaeed in the Lockinge.

We are however going to oppose both market leaders in favour of the improving Bashkirova. Claimed the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom less than two weeks ago to extend her record to four wins from six. More than capable of the improvement needed to give trainer, William Haggas his second Duke Of Cambridge Stakes in four years.

Race Odds

  • 11/4: Saffron Beach, Mother Earth
  • 7/2: Bashkirova
  • 7/1: Sibila Spain
  • 10/1: Novemba
  • 11/1: Primo Bacio
  • 33/1: Kennella
  • 40/1: Thunder Beauty

17:00 - Royal Hunt Cup

Established in 1843, the Royal Hunt Cup is one of the oldest races staged at the Royal

Ascot meeting. Open to horses aged three years and older, the Royal Hunt Cup is raced over one mile.

Legend Of Dubai is the bookies' favourite and is currently available at 13/2. Lightly raced for a four year old with just five previous runs under his belt. Impressive on seasonal reappearance at Newmarket in April and has an excellent chance.

Astro King is next in the betting. Sir Michael Stoute's five year old went off as favourite in this race last year but was a well-beaten second behind Real World. Keeping on when badly hampered on only run this year and certainly one for the shortlist.

Dark Shift gets the nod for us. The Charles Hills-trained four year old is 2-2 at one mile including over C&D in October.

Race Odds

  • 13/2: Legend Of Dubai
  • 15/2: Astro King
  • 10/1: Symbolize
  • 11/1: Dark Shift
  • 12/1: Totally Charming
  • 14/1: Magical Morning
  • 16/1: Great Gadian, Fantastic Fox
  • 18/1: Bopedro, Rebel Territory
  • 20/1: Sinjaari, Bless Him
  • 25/1: Intellogent, Aratus, Cruyff Turn, Desert Peace
  • 28/1: Escobar, What's The Story
  • 33/1: Isla Kai, Excel Power, Via Serendipity
  • 40/1: San Andreas, Tempus, Etonian, Percy's Lad
  • 50/1: Notre Belle Bete
  • 66/1: Real Force, Hortzadar
  • 80/1: Lunar Space
  • 150/1: Humanitarian

17:35 - Windsor Castle Stakes

The Windsor Castle Stakes is a Listed race run over five furlongs and open to two year olds.

Little Big Bear is heavily-fancied to win this year's renewal for Aidan O'Brien. Impressive when winning a maiden at Naas last month.

Chateau could pose the biggest danger to Little Big Bear in the penultimate race of the day. Won a conditions stakes at Beverley last time out despite being held up. Similar story on debut when third at Salisbury. With a clear run on Wednesday, he could quite easily have the beating of the favourite.

Race Odds

  • 9/4: Little Big Bear
  • 9/1: Chateau, Far Shot
  • 10/1: Bolt Action
  • 11/1: Knebworth, Seismic Spirit
  • 12/1: Rocket Rodney
  • 14/1: Wodao
  • 16/1: Union Court
  • 20/1: Eddie's Boy, Kaasib
  • 22/1: Mehmar
  • 25/1: Star Of Lady M
  • 33/1: Rocking Ends, Whistle And Flute, Jumbeau
  • 40/1: Guiteau
  • 50/1: Silencer
  • 66/1: Edgar Linton, Kuwait City, Ramazan, Yahtzee
  • 100/1: Democracy Dilemma, Finn Russell

18:10 - Kensington Palace Stakes

We wrap up day two with the seven furlong Kensington Palace Stakes. Haziya is the market leader having improved considerably since switching yards in the spring. Now trained by Joseph O'Brien, Haziya won at Leopardstown on season reappearance before finishing 3/27 in a big handicap at the Curragh.

Improvised won a Listed race at Musselburgh recently and will face a future 10lbs rise as a consequence. Well-treated for now as he steps up in trip. Certainly one for the shortlist.

Race Odds

  • 5/1: Haziya
  • 13/2: Improvised
  • 7/1: White Moonlight
  • 12/1: Farhh To Shy, State Occasion, Spirit Of The Bay, Isola Rossa
  • 14/1: Ffion
  • 16/1: Angel Power
  • 20/1: Dubai Love, Pretty Sweet, Serenading, Professional Widow
  • 25/1: Neptune Rock, Don't Tell Claire, Random Harvest
  • 33/1: Rosemary And Thyme
  • 40/1: Rising Star, Talabaat
  • 50/1: Celtic Empress

Royal Ascot Predictions

  • 14:30 - Love Reigns (3/1)
  • 15:05 - Nahanni (4/1)
  • 15:40 - Shahryar (10/3)
  • 16:20 - Bashkirova (7/2)
  • 17:00 - Dark Shift (11/1)
  • 17:35 - Chateau (9/1)
  • 18:10 - Haziya (5/1)

Bet365 Free Bets for Ascot: Terms

  • Offer available to new customers registering on or after 12:00 UK Time on 14th December 2021.
  • Make a qualifying deposit of £5* or more to qualify for 500% of that amount in Bet Credits up to £50* in Bet Credits. Your qualifying deposit is your largest deposit (capped at £10*) made in the 7 days prior to you claiming the offer. Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, paysafecard and all other prepaid credit and debit cards, where available, cannot be used for either your qualifying deposit or any subsequent withdrawal of returns from Bet Credits stakes unless we have successfully verified an accepted form of your Identity Documents and you have entered a Postal Verification Code (PVC), or we have successfully verified two accepted forms of your Identity Documents.
  • For more details on accepted Identity Documents, how to enter a PVC, or to upload your Identity Documents, simply log in to your account, go to the Account menu then My Account and select Verification.
  • You must claim your offer within 30 days of registering your account.
  • The maximum amount of Bet Credits that can be claimed is £50*. For example, a qualifying deposit of £20* will qualify for £50* of Bet Credits.

Releasing your Bet Credits

  • Your Bet Credits will be held in your account balance and are non-withdrawable. To release your Bet Credits you must place qualifying bets with a total stake value equal to or greater than the value of your qualifying deposit (capped at £10*) and they must settle within 30 days of claiming the offer. Only qualifying bets placed and settled after claiming the offer will count towards this requirement.
  • Your Bet Credits will normally be available to use within one hour of the qualifying settled bet requirement being met.
  • You may have more than one Bet Credits offer available on your account at any one time. However, qualifying settled bets will only count towards releasing one of the offers. You may choose which offer is active within the My Offers section of the Account Menu.
  • Any single bets placed at odds of less than 1/5 (1.20) will not count towards the release of your Bet Credits. In multiple bets at least one selection must have odds of 1/5 (1.20) or greater to count.
  • bet365 does not allow the ‘backing of both sides' of a market or betting on multiple selections within a market/fixture combination to unfairly manipulate the release of Bet Credits. Where there is more than one stake placed on a market/fixture combination, only the largest cumulative stake on an individual selection (either pre-match or In-Play) will count towards the settled bets requirement (if you have placed the same highest cumulative stake on more than one selection then only one will count towards the settled bets requirement). Any bets settled on other selections in the same market/fixture combination will not count towards the release of your Bet Credits. For example, if you have a £5 bet on Man Utd to beat Chelsea and an £8 bet on Chelsea to beat Man Utd on the Full Time Result market, only the stake on Chelsea will count towards the release of your Bet Credits (if both bets were for £5 then £5 would count towards the release of your Bet Credits). If you were to place a further £4 bet on Man Utd to beat Chelsea, this cumulative £9 stake will count towards the release of your Bet Credits and not the £8 stake on Chelsea. In addition, if you were to place bets on the Win and Each Way market on three horses in the same race, two for a £5 stake and another for an £8 stake, only the £8 stake would count towards the release of your Bet Credits. This restriction also applies to market/fixture combinations where the same market is available on multiple separate occasions within the same fixture (either pre-match or In-Play), for example Tennis Current Set Winner or Next Game. If you have a £5 bet on Simona Halep to win the 3rd game (Next Game) against Naomi Osaka, and have a further £2 bet on Simona Halep to win the 4th game (Next Game), both bets will count towards the release of your Bet Credits. However, if you were to place a £9 bet on Naomi Osaka to win the 5th game (Next Game) only that bet will count towards the settled bets requirement, as it is the highest stake on a selection in that market/fixture combination, and not the £7 staked on Simona Halep. This term is applied in conjunction with the other restrictions.
  • Fully Cashed Out, Instant Games, Gaming, Free Bets, void bets and In-Play bets which are settled as a push do not count towards the release of your Bet Credits. Where a stake has been partially Cashed Out, only the remaining active stake will count towards the release of your Bet Credits. Where a bet has been edited using our Edit Bet feature, the original stake will not count towards the release of your Bet Credits and only the new stake on the new bet will count.
  • If you do not have qualifying settled bets to the value of your qualifying deposit (capped at £10*) within 30 days of claiming the offer, your Bet Credits will be forfeit and removed and the offer will be closed.

Using Bet Credits

  • Your Bet Credits are non-withdrawable. Any returns from Bet Credits stakes will be added to your Withdrawable Balance but Bet Credits stakes are not included in any returns. For example, a £10 bet placed at odds of 2/1 (3.00) would give a return of £30 (£20 winnings plus £10 stake), whereas a £10 Bet Credits stake placed at odds of 2/1 (3.00) would give a net return of £20, as the £10 Bet Credits stake is not returned.
  • Stakes can be funded in part by your Bet Credits and part with your Withdrawable Balance; however the Bet Credits element of the stake will not be included in any returns. For example, a £10 bet placed at odds of 2/1 (3.00) which was funded by £5 Bet Credits and £5 cash would give a net return of £25 (£20 winnings plus £5 cash stake) as the £5 Bet Credits stake would not be returned. If a bet is void and has had an opportunity to win (for example, in the event of a push), Bet Credits stakes will not be returned. If a bet is void and has not had an opportunity to win (for example, when a Goalscorer bet is placed on a player who does not then take part in the match), Bet Credits stakes will be returned.
  • For the purpose of Cash Out, the value displayed will already have the Bet Credits stake removed and will be the actual return received if Cashed Out.
  • Your Bet Credits cannot be used as stakes on Tote (including other pool betting), Colossus bets and Lotto markets, cannot be used as stakes on Bankers, If Bets, Reverse If Bets or Teasers.
  • Your Bet Credits will be forfeit and removed if your account is inactive for 90 consecutive days. Making a deposit, placing a Sports bet or participation in any Casino, Games, Poker or Bingo product is deemed as having activity on an account.
  • Bet Credits can be used as a qualifying bet for the following offers ITV Racing 4/1, Feature Race 4/, Bore Draw Money Back
  • Bets placed using Bet Credits will not qualify for the following bonuses: Soccer Accumulator Bonus, Tennis Accumulator Bonus, Multi-Sport and Accumulator Bonus
