Cheltenham Festival 2023 betting tips!

Another thoroughly entertaining Cheltenham Festival draws to a close on Friday with the last seven races of the four-day Festival set to be contested. The final day features another three Grade 1 races, the highlight of which is undoubtedly the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase. As we look ahead to the final day of Cheltenham Festival action, here at freebets.ltd.uk we'll bring the very best racing odds and free bet offers from popular bookmakers Ladbrokes.

The 2023 Cheltenham Gold Cup looks a fascinating renewal with several entries looking to create their own piece of history. Four-time Gold Cup winning trainer, Paul Nicholls is chasing a record-breaking fifth win in the Festival's blue riband race with Bravemansgame. The eight-year-old was a late withdrawal when tipped by many to win last year's Brown Advisory but he impressed when winning the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day and had every chance in Friday's feature race.

Noble Yeats is also chasing a bit of history as he aims to become just the third horse after Golden Miller and L'Escargot to complete the Grand National / Gold Cup double. His chances would have certainly been enhanced by the recent rain and he arrives at Cheltenham in solid form. Good each-way prospect but another Grand National win probably looks more realistic.

Last year's winner, A Plus Tard pulled up on his only win since the 2022 Gold Cup. Al Boum Photo and Best Mate are the only back-to-back winners of the race since the seventies, but having also finished second in this race in 2021, he cannot be taken lightly.

There's a rundown of the likeliest challengers but now to the favourite. Galopin Des Champs could become the shortest-priced winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup since Kauto Star won at 5/4 in 2007. Willie Mullins' superstar fell at the last when all set to win the Turners Novices' Chase last year but that remains his only loss over fences. Galopin Des Champs won the 2021 Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap ahead of Wednesday's Coral Cup winner, Langer Dan. He's bounced back from last year's disappointment to win three successive Grade 1 races over in Ireland, including an eight-length win in the Irish Gold Cup in February. If he safely makes his way around the Cheltenham course, Galopin Des Champs simply will not lose on Friday.

The opening race on the fourth and final day of the Festival is the Grade 1 JCB Triumph Hurdle. In what looks like a tougher-than-normal renewal, Willie Mullins has each of the first five in the market. The race looks set to be a three-way battle between stablemates, Lossiemouth, Blood Destiny and Gala Marceau.

Lossiemouth is the market leader but lost her unbeaten record at Leopardstown last time out. Lossiemouth was badly hampered by a faller and failed to regain the lead from stablemate and subsequent race winner, Gala Marceau.

Gala Marceau has failed to settle on each of her two starts in Ireland but has still finished in the top two on each of those starts. Equally as talented as Lossiemouth but far more unpredictable. Certainly has potential but is a far riskier selection. The third Mullins horse at the head of the betting is Blood Destiny. Not the most fluent jumpers, but an excellent prospect nonetheless. At one stage it looked like Bloody Destiny would go off as favourite for the Triumph Hurdle but with Paul Townend opting to ride Lossiemouth, she looks the more likely winner.
