Tuesday 19th September

AC Milan v Newcastle United

Newcastle United are back in the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time since 2002/03. The Magpies have been handed a difficult task having been drawn in Group F alongside AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund. Eddie Howe's begin their campaign with a daunting trip to the San Siro in week one.

AC Milan reached the semi-final of the competition last season but go into Tuesday's fixture on the back of a humiliating 5-1 defeat at the hands of fierce rivals, Inter Milan on Saturday. However, the Rossoneri have made an encouraging start to the new season and have won their other three Serie A matches so far. AC Milan have only played at home once this season, claiming a solid 4-1 win over Torino three weeks ago.

Newcastle United got back to winning ways at the weekend as they earned a 1-0 win at home to Brentford. The Magpies have endured a tough run of fixtures and lost three successive league games against Manchester City (1-0), Liverpool (2-1) and Brighton & Hove Albion (3-1).

AC Milan v Newcastle United Match odds

  • AC Milan: 17/10
  • Draw: 23/10
  • Newcastle United: 8/5

Manchester City v Red Star Belgrade

Last season's Champions League winners, Manchester City are inevitably amongst the favourites to win the competition again this year and Pep Guardiola's side have made an excellent start to the new season domestically. Man City have kicked off their Premier League title defence with five wins from five.

Manchester City should prove far too strong for Red Star Belgrade on match day one but last season's Serbian SuperLiga champions will take plenty of encouragement from the fact that Manchester City have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their past three matches. Red Star Belgrade are averaging three goals per game in their domestic league this season having score twenty one times in just seven matches.

Manchester City v Red Star Belgrade Match odds

  • Manchester City: 1/16
  • Draw: 14/1
  • Red Star Belgrade: 45/1

Wednesday 20th September

Bayern Munich v Manchester United

After their miserable performance at home to Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend, the last thing Manchester United needed was a midweek trip away at German giants, Bayern Munich. The Red Devils are currently languishing in twelfth in the Premier League having lost three times in their opening five matches.

In contrast, Bayern Munich are joint-first in the Bundesliga and remain unbeaten having taken ten points from their opening four matches. England international, Harry Kane is in red-hot form with four goals in his first four Bundesliga matches.

Fortunately for Manchester United, the fixtures should get easier after their trip to the Allianz Arena. Manchester United and Bayern Munich are joined in Group A by Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen.

Bayern Munich v Manchester United Match odds

  • Bayern Munich: 8/15
  • Draw: 17/5
  • Manchester United: 24/5

Arsenal v PSV Eindhoven

Arsenal return to the Champions League for the first time since 2016/17 and Mikel Arteta's side have been drawn in Group B alongside Sevilla, Lens and PSV Eindhoven.

Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven are first up for the Gunners with the two sides meeting at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening. The 1987/88 European champions have made an excellent start in their own domestic league with four wins from four in the league. The early Eredivise leaders have scored thirteen times and conceded just once in their four league games to date and warmed up for Wednesday with a comfortable 4-0 over NEC at the weekend.

Arsenal have also got off to a solid start to the new season and sit just two points adrift of Manchester City in the Premier League. The Gunners have taken thirteen points from five matches and defeated Everton 1-0 last time out.

Arsenal v PSV Eindhoven Match odds

  • Arsenal: 2/5
  • Draw: 19/5
  • PSV Eindhoven: 7/1
